Podiatry
The Armadale Health Service Podiatry Department provides clinical services to both inpatients and outpatients. It is a specialised unit dedicated to delivering quality care to those at high risk of foot complications.
We provide clinical services in the following areas:
- Community Rehabilitation
- High risk foot management
Referrals:
Referrals for outpatient podiatry may be made by a medical or nursing practitioner or an allied health professional.
Please email your referral to AKG.Referrals@health.wa.gov.au. Please include a full medical history, history of the presenting complaint, presence of pedal pulses, presence of clinical infection, prior investigations (blood work/microbiology/imaging) in your referral.
Eligibility Criteria for outpatient referrals:
- Must reside in AKHS Catchment Area.
- Must have either an active foot concern or a high-risk foot.
- A high-risk foot is characterised by previous amputation, previous foot ulcer, or two of the following: Peripheral Neuropathy, Peripheral Vascular Disease, and Foot Deformity (e.g. Charcot Arthropathy, bony prominences, claw toes).
For urgent concerns such as development of a new foot ulcer or an acute infection of an ulcer please contact the podiatry department in business hours.
