Pharmacy
Our Pharmacy is responsible for the supply of medications to:
- inpatients admitted to our hospital wards,
- patients requiring medication upon discharge, and
- outpatients visiting our clinics or emergency department.
We also provide clinical pharmacy services across a number of areas, such as the intensive care unit (ICU), maternity, general medicine, paediatrics, and mental health. Our pharmacists collaborate with the wider multidisciplinary team to provide specialised services, such as antimicrobial stewardship and opioid stewardship. We also support teaching within our hospitals through participation in the AKG Grand Round, intern pharmacist preceptorship and the delivery of education to medical, nursing, and allied health colleagues.
Our focus is on providing contemporary pharmacy services that align with best practice principles of achieving medication safety for all our patients.
