Older Adult Mental Health Programs
The Armadale Older Adult Mental Health Service provides accredited mental health services for people aged over 65 years within the Armadale, Gosnells and Jarrahdale-Serpentine areas.
These include:
- community assessments and treatment
- inpatient assessment and treatment (Banksia ward)
- outpatient clinical services
- consultation and liaison to general medical wards and aged care residential facilities
- community mental health promotion and education.
Please note that this service does not provide:
- permanent residential care
- temporary respite
- relocation
- services for people with intellectual impairment, acquired brain injury
- drug, alcohol or substance abuse programs
- services for medico- legal issues.
Referrals
Referrals to the Armadale Older Adult Mental Health Service are accepted from:
- medical practitioners
- hospital and community agencies
- family members of an older person with mental illness
- an older person with mental illness (self-referral)
General Practitioners (GPs) who intend to refer a patient to our Older Adult Mental Health Programs, please use the Older Adult Mental Health GP referral form (Word 270KB).
Visiting hours
Inpatient unit (Banksia ward)
- 12.30pm to 1.30pm and 4pm to 8pm (weekdays)
- 10am to 1.30pm and 4pm to 8pm (weekends and public holidays)
Visiting outside these hours may be negotiated with the Shift Coordinator.
