Operational Plan 2025-26

Operational Plan 2025-26

03/11/2025

The Armadale Kalamunda Group (AKG) has released an Operational Plan for 2025-26 to help prioritise workload, staff development and expenditure until June 30, 2026.

“This Plan underlines the way we care for our patients and each other. It’s our contract with each other about how we are going to communicate and work together,” said AKG Executive Director Alisha Thompson.

“Some of the projects listed in our Operational Plan are already underway and the rest we will aim to complete by the end of this financial year. We look forward to your input as we start drafting the next plan,” Alisha said.

Projects for 2025-26 include:

  • Long service awards, and nursing and midwifery awards
  • Digital rostering for doctors
  • A focus on kindness and cultural sensitivity
  • Providing better care for pregnant women with diabetes
  • Shorter stays for patients with joint replacements
  • A localised approach to implementing the statewide What Matters to You program
  • Adopting a framework for asking patients in the Emergency Department about what matters most to them
  • Ensuring outpatient services meet the future needs of the community
  • New process for applying for education and training funding
  • Quality improvement to turn ideas into action for better patient care
  • Evaluating our patient flow initiatives
  • Models of care to ensure they are evidence based and best practice.

“The focus now will be to work with teams to develop exactly how we are going to implement these initiatives,” Alisha said.

This Plan is the culmination of collaborative work led by the Executive team, with valuable input from managers across AKG and insights drawn from the most recent staff survey. It reinforces our commitment to continuous quality improvement.

“I want this Plan to be a constant reminder to us, not just the executive managers, but across the organisation, because this plan is for everyone,” Alisha said.
