Amenities and facilities

We offer a number of amenities and facilities for our patients and visitors to help make your stay or visit more pleasurable.


In most wards there are digital television screens above each bed. Access to the televisions is available on a daily or weekly rental basis for standard free-to-air digital channels and movie channels.

The rental costs depend on the number of days required and channel types selected. The television service is provided by an external company and is not managed by us. For payment information, see Purchasing Credits below.

For safety reasons, the use of private TV sets is not permitted.


Bedside telephones are available so patients can receive incoming telephone calls at no cost. The telephone service is provided by an external company and is not managed by us.

Local calls (un-timed) are $0.45 per call, while calls to mobiles (timed) are charged out at $0.80 per minute. Long distance calls (timed) within Australia are charged out at between $0.24 and $0.80 per minute.

You will need to purchase credits before you are able to use the bedside phone for outgoing calls.

Public telephones are located near the hospital main reception.

Purchasing credits

Credit for TV hire or to make outgoing telephone calls can be purchased via credit card through the bedside phones (dial 67 and follow the prompts) or with cash through dedicated vending machines located on the wards.

If you have chosen to use your private health insurance during your stay at our hospital, you will receive complimentary TV rental and capped credits for phone calls. For more information, contact our Private Patient Liaison Officer on (08) 9391 2087.


The on-site café, located on the ground floor, is privately operated by Aroma Café and offers a range of food and drink options for patients, visitors, staff and the general public.

Vending machines

Drinks and snacks can be purchased 24 hours-a-day from the vending machines located outside the hospital main entrance and next to the Auxiliary Kiosk.

Auxiliary Kiosk

The Armadale Kelmscott Memorial Hospital Auxiliary operates a kiosk which is managed by volunteers to help raise funds for our hospital.

Situated on the ground floor, the kiosk sells a range of gifts, baby baskets, newspapers, magazines, books, flowers, cold drinks and confectionary. Proceeds from sales at the kiosk go towards purchasing medical equipment and other patient-related items.

An automatic teller machine (ATM) is located in the hospital main foyer (next to the elevator).

Quiet Room

A multicultural, non-denominational Quiet Room for reflection and prayer is located on the ground floor corridor past the Carl Streich rehabilitation and subacute care ward towards the mental health unit.

The room can be used by patients, families and visitors of any religion or faith and as a refuge for quiet contemplation.
