The maternity unit at Armadale Health Service (AHS) recently received two new Panda warmers to better care for babies.

The new model is all encompassing with a number of features. These include an integrated weighing scale, more precise heating which keeps the baby warm without overheating the caregiver, and contains all the equipment required for resuscitation.

Nurse Unit Manager Kate O’Reilly-Bradley said the newer model is also easier to use and transport.

“The new warming unit will benefit babies as everything is built into it,” Kate said. “When newborns are unwell, they don’t like to be handled.

This unit will allow us to do everything without having to move the babies back and forth.”
