If you are a woman aged 40 or over, this April you can access a free screening mammography service in Armadale.

BreastScreen WA’s mobile service will be located at Haynes Shopping Centre carpark, corner Armadale Road and Eighth Road Monday 9 to Monday 23 April.

Bookings are essential, and can be made online (external link).

Why get a screening mammogram?

Breast cancer is the most common life-threatening cancer for women, and one in eight women in Australia will develop breast cancer in their lifetime.

Having a screening mammogram (breast x-ray) every two years significantly increases the chance of a woman surviving breast cancer and reduces the amount of treatment required. Screening mammograms may detect up to 90 per cent of breast cancers.

Any woman with a persistent change in a breast should see her doctor immediately.

BreastScreen WA encourages women to make an informed decision about having a mammogram.
